Coffee’s Surprising Role in the Bible

For many of us, coffee is a necessary part of our daily routine. We reach for that hot cup of joe in the morning to help us wake up and start our day. But did you know that coffee also has a place in the Bible?

Isaiah 40:30-31 says, "Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint." When we're feeling tired and worn out, we can turn to God for strength and endurance. But sometimes, we need a little help to keep going. And for many of us, that help comes in the form of coffee.

Similarly, Proverbs 31:6 says, "Give strong drink to the one who is perishing, and wine to those in bitter distress." While this verse is specifically referring to wine, it can be applied more broadly to any drink that can help us in times of need. When we're going through a difficult time, sometimes a comforting cup of coffee can help us feel a little better.

Of course, as with anything, it's important to remember that moderation is key. We shouldn't rely on coffee or any other drink to solve all of our problems or provide all of our strength. But when used in moderation and with a grateful heart, coffee can be a wonderful part of our daily routine, reminding us of God's provision and love for us. So go ahead, pour yourself a cup of coffee, and give thanks for the little blessings in life.

At our house, we enjoy:

Bold3 Coffee

This is coffee made for and by people of faith. We think it’s the perfect way to fuel your body while also sharing God's love with others. With every bag purchased, you are providing God's Word to three children in need. In turn, I always love the fresh roasted aroma. It leaves me energized and ready to share the light of Jesus with the world.

Family-First, Programmable Coffee Brewer

Mornings in our household are busy. And as important as that first cup of coffee is, it’s often difficult to make while juggling family responsibilities.

One of the main benefits of programmable coffee makers is that they allow parents to set a brewing schedule in advance. This means that parents can program their coffee maker to start brewing at a specific time, so that they can wake up to a fresh pot of coffee in the morning without having to manually start the brewing process.

This is especially helpful for parents who have to get their children ready for school or church in the morning. By having a fresh pot of coffee waiting for them, they can save time on their morning routine and focus on getting their children ready instead. This can also help parents avoid the stress of rushing to make coffee—instead using the time to relax and have a moment with their family.

For some of the busiest parents, we’d recommend a programmable coffee maker with additional features that make the brewing process faster and more efficient. Some coffee makers have the ability to brew coffee at a higher temperature, which can speed up the brewing process and produce a better-tasting cup of coffee. Others have built-in grinders, which can save parents time by grinding the coffee beans automatically. For those weary parents, this is one of the best models we’ve tried.

Overall, programmable coffee makers are a great investment for busy parents who want to save time and simplify their morning routine. By adding a programmable brewer to our household, we’ve made mornings just that much easier: the water starts brewing while we attend to our family.

Faithful Coffee Mugs

We kneel humbled as people of faith and these mugs often remind me and my wife to pray and be faithful servants during our days. It’s a subtle written message for those humbled in their faith.

And for those who struggle to start the day, an inspirational quote can be a powerful tool to uplift a tired soul and help them regain their motivation and energy. When someone is feeling exhausted and drained, it can be difficult for them to find the strength to keep going. In these moments especially, a meaningful Bible quote can provide the necessary encouragement and inspiration to push through the fatigue.
